In 1991, Entertainment Technology launched its first IGBT-based dimming product line, which gained extreme popularity because of its unique benefits that SCR-based dimming products cannot match. Entertainment Technology's ground-breaking technology has eliminated the number one shortcoming of conventional dimming systems - noise.

Entertainment Technology was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1983 as a research and development company. In August 2001, Entertainment Technology was acquired by the Genlyte Group, LLC and relocated to Dallas, Texas.
